33-year-old Brijesh Nagpal is fundraising INR 1 crore via ImpactGuru.com, India’s leading medical fundraising platform, for the treatment of Lymphoma, a rare type of blood cancer. Brijesh was leading a normal life until he was diagnosed with lymphoma back in September 2022. He did not get bogged down by this setback but decided to overcome this challenging situation with utmost positivity.
An individual suffers from Lymphoma when a disease-fighting white blood cell called lymphocyte undergoes genetic mutation. This mutation allows the cells to multiply quicker than usual resulting in the growth of many ineffective lymphocytes in the lymph nodes, leading to the swelling of lymph nodes, spleen and liver.
However, there is still hope for Brijesh. He needs to undergo a rigorous treatment process that includes DHAP high-intensity chemotherapy, immunotherapy drugs, and stem cell transplant along with radiation therapy which will cost him a further INR one crore. With his father retired, and his mother a homemaker, the burden of earning for the family falls on Brijesh, his brother and his wife. Given his condition, his wife and his brother are the only working members of the family. Once a workaholic, who was providing for his family, Brijesh now hopes to receive the necessary treatment and recover as soon as possible with the support of crowdfunding.
“This cancer is weakening me and making me more and more vulnerable by affecting everyday life. I need to undergo treatment for lymphoma which will cost up to INR 1 crore. I need your help to continue the treatment as I am unable to afford it. I have pinned my hope on the generosity of the donors through medical crowd-funding,” says Brijesh while sharing his struggles.
