In latest Uttarakhand news, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced that the bus station at Tanakpur would be transformed as the model and the most modern bus station in Kumaon region. He said that he had already given the required instruction to the transport department. At the same time, he stressed on the speedy completion of the work involving 30 under-construction bus stations, including the Kotdwar bus station. While taking a review meeting involving the transport department at the State Secretariat, the CM said that the department must firm up and execute plans to ensure that the maximum number of the State’s people aside from the tourists and the pilgrims avail the State transport service. He also stressed on massive tree plantation on the roadsides in the mountainous areas to avoid road accidents. He further said that the departments of transport, tourism and culture should work together to ensure that the Char Dham Yatra continues all round the year. This aside, it must be ensured that the pilgrims coming from across the world spend more and more time in the State, he said, adding that the departments concerned must be pro active in formulating and executing developmental plans being rolled out by the State government.
