Some of the clothes retailers in Dehradun have turned to alternative options due to changing online shopping trends. According to some of the retailers, the Covid-19 pandemic has driven more people towards online shopping. Online shopping is on the rise and consumers are according value to quick retail purchase experiences, said the cloth retailers.
Commenting on the online consumption of clothes, vendor Fardeen Khan said, “The Covid-19 pandemic has had a major impact on the retail clothing market. Many people now prefer to shop for clothes online rather than spend time in physical stores. Unfortunately, this trend has negatively affected the business of traditional clothes retailers. In response, I have decided to expand my business by selling clothes online as well.”
Another clothes retailer Manish Ahuja said that it is true that online consumption has rapidly increased after the Covid-19 pandemic. He has been operating a clothes shopping business for the past six years. Ahuja said that he has found alternative options to keep up with the new trend of customers preferring online shopping.
Regarding this, local resident Renu Bhatt said, “Since the outbreak of Covid-19, I find it more comfortable to shop online than to physically visit the market. Online shopping is not only convenient but also affordable. I have personally noticed that clothes and other items are cheaper on online platforms compared to physical markets.”
