In latest news from Dehradun, the railway department has introduced the system of booking non-reservation tickets through scanning QR Code at two railway stations in Uttarakhand: Dehradun and Haridwar. Sharing details, the rail department officers said that this facility is being extended in the first leg to 12 stations under the Northern Railway (Moradabad). Aside from Dehradun and Haridwar, the other stations under the division receiving this facility include Moradabad, Bareilly, Hardoi, Amroha, Hapur, Rampur and Naziabad. It is further learnt that for the first six months since April to September 2023, a total of 1, 82, 131 passengers have booked tickets through UTS on Mobile App.
