In latest news from Dehradun, the State Congress Committee filed complaint at Dhara police station against a reporter of Rajasthan-based First India News for allegedly spreading the false news of the demise of the former Uttarakhand chief minister Harish Rawat. Notably, the Congress veteran had met with a road accident as the car he was travelling in hit a divider on the Haldwani-Kashipur road. He had sustained minor injuries and been rushed to a hospital. He had, however, been discharged a few hours later. Speaking of the matter, the State Congress chief spokesperson Garima Mehra Dasauni said that her party had urged police to take stern action against the reporter responsible for the demise rumour involving a veteran party leader.
