More than 54 lakh Ayushman cards made, more than 10 lakh treated under scheme

The Ayushman Yojana has emerged as a source of major relief for citizens when it comes to medical treatment. According to official sources, so far Ayushman cards have been made for more than 54 lakh people in the State. About 10 lakh patients have undergone varied treatment under this scheme so far. The government has spent more than Rs 1,900 crore on facilitating the benefit of this scheme to citizens so far. Apart from the Ayushman Yojana, other steps taken by the State government like appointment of doctors and nursing officers are also expected to improve the medical health services in Uttarakhand, especially in the rural and mountainous regions of the State.
According to officials, more than 10 lakh people have undergone free medical treatment for various ailments and medical conditions under the Ayushman Yojana in the State so far. With Aysuhman cards having been made for more than 54 lakh people so far, the government is working to achieve its target of providing Ayushman cards to all citizens aged above five years in the State by 2024.
According to official data, 2,72,763 Ayushman cards have been made in Almora district where 27,086 people have undergone treatment under the scheme. In Bageshwar district 1,19,867 Ayushman cards have been made and 11,829 people have undergone treatment under the scheme. Similarly, 2,11,040 Ayushman cards have been made in Chamoli district where 35,610 people have been treated under the scheme while 1,25,272 Ayushman cards have been made in Champawat district where 17,444 people have been treated under the scheme. In Dehradun district, 11,12,592 Ayushman cards have been made and 2,68,779 people have been treated under the scheme. A total of 9,08,322 Ayushman cards have been made in Haridwar district and 1,71,210 people have been treated under the scheme while 5,16,223 Ayushman cards have been made and 87,359 people have been treated under the scheme in Nainital district.
A total of 3,89,934 Ayushman cards have been made and 82,841 people have been treated under the scheme in Pauri district while 2,28,072 Ayushman cards have been made and 31,008 people have been treated under the scheme in Pithoragarh district. In Rudraprayag district, 1,27,111 Ayushman cards have been made and 21,798 people have been treated under the scheme while 3,32,797 Ayushman cards have been made and 58,358 people have been treated under the scheme in Tehri district. A toal of 8,88,549 Ayushman cards have been made and 1,49,295 people have been treated under the scheme in Udham Singh Nagar district.
The Health minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that with a cover of upto Rs five lakh per year for varied treatment, this scheme is proving to be an elixir for the people.
