Warning- cold wave conditions likely in plains today

The State meteorological centre has issued a yellow warning (Watch) regarding the possibility of dense fog likely to occur in some parts of Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts and cold day/cold wave conditions likely to occur at isolated places in these two districts of the State on Wednesday.
Frost is likely to occur at isolated places in the mountainous regions of the State today. Further, moderate to dense fog is likely to occur in some parts of Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts. Apart from this, dry weather is likely to prevail in the districts of the State today. The meteorological centre has forecast that the provisional State capital Dehradun is likely to witness a mainly clear sky today with shallow to moderate fog likely to occur during the morning hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 18 degrees Celsius to six degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
On Tuesday, the minimum temperature in Dehradun dropped two degrees below normal which intensified the cold. However, bright sunshine provided some relief from the cold during the day. The weather is expected to remain similar on Wednesday as the maximum temperature is expected to drop. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Tuesday were 20.5 degrees Celsius and 4.4 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 14.5 degrees Celsius and 0.1 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 12.5 degrees Celsius and 1.6 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 13.5 degrees Celsius and 2.2 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
