The Uttarakhand State Commission for Women (USCW) chief Kusum Kandwal directed the police to investigate the death of the minor girl who allegedly committed suicide in a home where she worked as a house help on Thursday. Kandwal said that she talked to the deputy inspector general (Law and Order) P Renuka and asked her to investigate the cause of death. The police must take strict action against offenders who either killed her or pushed her to commit suicide at such a tender age. She asked the DIG to act against those who employed a minor as a house help. A case should also be lodged against the victim’s parents who pushed her to be a maid at such a young age, Kandwal said.
