Elderly woman assaulted, threatened by son and daughter-in-law

An elderly woman has alleged that her elder son and his wife assaulted her and threatened to throw her out of her house in Turner Road, Dehradun on Monday. She has submitted a complaint at Clement Town police station on Tuesday, saying she fears for her life and property.
Satyam Rathore said in her complaint that her husband RO Rathor died on May 8, 2025. She claimed that her husband had transferred his movable and immovable property to her name in 2017 because of continuing disputes with their elder son. As per the complaint, her elder son Vishwadeep Rathore and his wife Babita Rathore had allegedly been quarrelling with her and her husband over the property. She said that on August 17, 2025, the couple abused and assaulted her and threatened to remove her from the house.
She said she had earlier informed the police about the incident, following which a case was registered. She also submitted that her medical report and a phone recording of the incident had been preserved.
The woman further claimed that security cameras installed at the house were damaged by her son and his wife.
