Three tourists killed in road accident in Mussoorie

Three tourists from Haryana died in a road accident in Mussoorie on Monday. The accident happened on Hathipaon road in Mussoorie when the car they were travelling in fell into a 500-metre deep gorge. The officials said that the police received information through the district control room in the afternoon that a car had fallen into a deep gorge on Hathipaon Road. After getting the information, the police reached the spot along with the search and rescue team of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF). They found that a car had fallen into a 500-metre gorge below Shanichar Band at Hathipaon Road. The locals informed them that the three men in the card had died at the spot and they had already retrieved a body from the gorge while the other two were yet to be retrieved. The SDRF team descended into the gorge and retrieved the remaining bodies with the help of the police, fire service personnel and local people. The police sent the bodies to Civil Hospital Mussoorie through 108 Ambulance. The police identified the three deceased as Rajpal (50), Om Prakash (45) and Vikas Tyagi (44) who were residents of Sonipat in Haryana. The bodies will be handed over to them after completion of all legal procedures. The officials said that the police are yet to ascertain the cause of the accident.
