The Congress party has restructured its social media cell in Uttarakhand. The party has appointed senior leader Abhinav Thapar as the chairperson of the social media cell while Bharat Sharma and Harshit Singh Bisht have been appointed as the co-chairpersons of the cell. The party has appointed Madhusudan Sunderiyal, Rohit Bhatt, Dinesh Chandra Tamta and Jasveer Kaur as the social media cell coordinators. These appointments were made by the general secretary All India Congress Committee (AICC) K C Venugopal after the approval of Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge.
Thapar who is at present is the spokesperson of Uttarakhand Congress, has a long organizational experience of more than 20 years. He has worked in various positions in NSUI, Youth Congress and Pradesh Congress Committee.
Expressing his gratitude to senior leaders, Thapar said that he will work to further strengthen the social media cell of the State. He said the cell will work to effectively convey the ideology, policies and programmes of the party to the general public. Thapar said that the cell will also work dedicatedly to bust the false narrative created by the ruling BJP and will reach out to every section of the society.
