Taking a stern note of dereliction of duties, misbehaviour and financial irregularities, the State administration has suspended the joint director of Panchayati Raj department Rajiv Kumar Nath Tripathi. The suspension order was issued by Panchayati Raj secretary HC Semwal on Monday. In the order, Tripathi is charged with irregularities and delay in tender process of a vehicle parking in Rudraprayag district. The vehicle parking has not been constructed due to this delay. This parking would have helped the pilgrims visiting the Kedarnath shrine. Tripathi is also charged with misbehaviour with passengers at Moradabad railway station. He was reportedly in an inebriated condition at the railway station. Tripathi is also charged with organising training programmes without approval of the State and Central governments. The expenditure on these training programmes exceeded the budget allotted by the Government of India. Tripathi will remain attached with the Panchayati Raj directorate during the period of his suspension.
