Garhwal commissioner conducts surprise inspection of Char Dham Yatra transit camp

The Garhwal commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey reached Rishikesh on Sunday to conduct a surprise inspection of the Char Dham Yatra transit camp. He took stock of the Char Dham Yatra arrangements and reviewed the arrangements with the officials concerned on the spot. He instructed them to ensure there is no laxity in providing basic facilities to the travellers. He said that it is the primary responsibility of the government and the administration to provide a smooth and safe journey to every pilgrim arriving in the State for Char Dham Yatra. The officials concerned must fully commit to their duties to make this possible. He said that both online and offline registration systems are available for the convenience of passengers and officials concerned should help them in the registration process as per the requirement. He also inspected places like offices, restrooms, health facility centre, and space set up for passengers’ rest and registration rooms among others. He also interacted with the pilgrims and tourists at the camp and wished them good luck for their journey.
