BJP leader threatens agitation

In latest news from Uttarakhand, the former Rudrapur MLA and BJP leader Rajkumar Thukral along with some e- rickshaw operators gheraoed the in-charge of the City Patrol Unit (CPU) Rakesh Bisht and threatened full-blown agitation, alleging that CPU has been harassing the E-rickshaw operators without reason.
Later, Thukral said that traffic police and CPU personnel have been seizing E-rickshaws in the name of license and route diversion. “The E-rickshaw operators earn their livelihood with what they earn by operating such rickshaws,” he added.
Queried on the matter, a senior CPU officer said that they had to take actions with the E-rickshaw operators not heeding to their repeated warnings. He further said that the matter would be resolved at a meeting convened on coming Sunday.
