All pilgrims rescued from Kedarnath area, 104 roads still blocked across State
At least 15K persons rescued from Kedarnath and route to shrine since August 1: SEOC

All the pilgrims stranded in Kedarnath and nearby areas were safely rescued by the government by Tuesday evening. According to the State Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC), about 15,000 persons have been rescued from the region by various agencies since August 1. The rescue teams are still present in the area. Apart from this, the State government is working round the clock to restore connectivity disrupted by landslides and other factors related to heavy rain in the State. However, 104 roads are still blocked in different parts of the State.
In the Rudraparyag district, the national highway to Kedarnath is open for traffic till Kund. The Gaurikund-Kedarnath bridle path is blocked by landslide at Lincholi while two bridges have been damaged by landslide at Rambada on the same route. Apart from this, 10 rural motor roads are blocked in the district. One State highway and 10 rural motor roads are blocked in the Pauri district while in the Chamoli district, the national highway to Badrinath is open though 23 rural motor roads are blocked in the district.
The national highways to Gangotri and Yamunotri are open in the Uttarkashi district while one State highway and six rural motor roads are blocked in the district. One State highway and six rural motor roads are blocked in the Nainital district while three rural motor roads are blocked in the Bageshwar district. Similarly, one State highway and six rural motor roads are blocked in the Dehradun district. One border road and 18 rural motor roads are blocked in the Pithoragarh district while one rural motor road is blocked in the Almora district. One State highway and one rural motor road are blocked in the Udham Singh Nagar district. Nine rural motor roads are blocked in the Tehri district.
