Reacting to the resumption of the Kedarnath Pratishtha Raksha Yatra of the Congress, the Bharatiya Janata Party has stated that the party should rather worry about saving its own prestige. Senior BJP leader Jyoti Prasad Gairola said that Lord Shiva bestows his grace on the creation and that the Congress should rather worry about itself. Referring to former chief minister and senior Congress leader Harish Rawat, he said that those whose corruption had been witnessed by people on the television, have no moral right to accuse others. Interacting with the media at the BJP State office here on Thursday, Gairola said that the Congress needs to curtail its ego. “It is undertaking a political rally which will not affect Lord Kedarnath’s prestige by an iota. The Congress should worry about its own prestige as it is moving towards zero with each passing year. The Congress needs to make changes in its principles and behaviour for this. The reality is that this rally is nothing more than a political drama of the Congress. People of Uttarakhand and the Kedar valley are fully aware of the real intentions of the Congress, which is why the Congress and its leaders will gain nothing from this activity,” he said.
Regarding preparations for the Kedarnath Assembly bypoll, Gairola said that the BJP takes every election seriously. The party cadre is actively working for the Kedarnath bypoll. The party workers are executing plans made for various levels in the constituency. “Everyone in the Congress considers themselves to be a leader and others to be a party worker. They do not listen to what their MLA or State president say, for which the BJP cannot be blamed. The faith of the public in the works of the double-engine government shows that the result of this bypoll will be in BJP’s favour,” Gairola said.
