Rs 3.42 crore distributed under MVY to 11,386 beneficiaries

The Women Empowerment and Child Development (WECD) minister Rekha Arya distributed Rs 3.42 crore for the months of July and August through DBT to 11,386 beneficiaries under the Mukhyamantri Vatsalya Yojana (MVY). She distributed this through digital medium in a review meeting held with the officials of the WECD department on Monday.
Arya emphasised the safety of women and girls, directing officials to ensure it at every level and to work towards making Uttarakhand the safest State for females. Additionally, she asked them to increase the regular inspection of women welfare institutions and maintain facilities there.
Beneficiaries who have become ineligible under the Vatsalya Yojana should be removed from the list, she said. Arya instructed the officials to work fast on the Anganwadi cum creche scheme of the Central government and directed the department to make the model creche functional during Navratri. Commenting on the honorarium of Anganwadi workers, she said that the honorarium of the workers till July has been paid by the department and the process of payment of the remaining amount is also going on fast. Additionally, other ongoing schemes related to women welfare and upliftment, including Nanda Gaurav Yojana (NGY) were discussed in the meeting.
