A workshop on the theme ‘Lekhak Gaon- Inspiration for the World through Literature, Art, Culture and Science’ was organised at Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology (UCOST) here on Tuesday. Addressing the workshop, the former Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ said India has always been a Vishwaguru with the universities like Nalanda, Takshashila and Vikramshila existing in the ancient times. He elaborated on how India has always been a leader in various fields like science, ayurveda, economics, agriculture and astronomy.
The director general, UCOST Durgesh Pant dwelt on the key features of the National Education Policy while stressing on science, education and literature complementing one another. He lauded the concept of Lekhak Gaon as a significant one.
