In latest news from Doon, an elderly man-Ashok Kumar Garg-, who is a retired ONGC engineer was, suspected to have been hacked to death in his home at Alakanada Colony in GMS road. He lived alone, police said. Hearing scream from the washroom of his house, the neighbours informed police and he was transported to a hospital. But he succumbed in a few minutes. Police further said that they were lookout for the murderer. CCTV camera footages are being scrutinised and his neighbours are being questioned, police said.
The SSP Dehradun Ajai Singh said that the deceased had retired from ONGC in 2008 and his wife had died a few years before his retirement. His two daughters are living in Gurugram and Chennai. Singh further said that an SOG and a police team have been formed to probe his death.
