Children from the remote Tyuni area of Dehradun district were provided transportation to reach the examination centre for the Navodaya Vidyalaya entrance exam. This marks the first time such an arrangement has been made, ensuring that students from the remote areas do not miss out on this important opportunity due to logistical challenges, the Dehradun district magistrate Savin Bansal said.

The DM arranged vehicles to transport the children to the exam center in Chakrata, setting an example of educational inclusivity and accessibility. The administration has been consistently working to enhance resources in government schools under the Janpad Utkarsh Project, an initiative aimed at improving educational infrastructure across the district. In addition to arranging transportation, the district administration has also approved funding to improve facilities at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya and Rajiv Gandhi Navodaya Vidyalaya. These efforts reflect the administration’s commitment to ensuring better learning conditions for students in the district, Bansal said.

He informed that the provision of vehicles for Tyuni students was made possible through the district planning budget, which has been utilised to ensure that students in even the most remote areas can access opportunities. This initiative has been appreciated by students, parents and teachers. They also appreciated the district administration’s consistent efforts to equip schools with essential resources, including furniture, equipment and sports facilities and praised the DM for his proactive approach.
