Stepping up its campaign for its mayoral and ward candidates in Dehradun, the Congress will be taking out a ‘Maharally’ in the provisional State capital on Monday. The Congress rally in support of its mayoral candidate Virendra Pokhriyal and those contesting for the posts of councillors is slated to begin at 11 AM.
The rally will start from the Congress Bhawan-Gandhi Park on Rajpur Road and pass through Paltan Bazaar to conclude at the Railway Station Chowk. The party has appealed to the residents of the city to attend the rally in large numbers to show their support to the Congress mayoral candidate.
Meanwhile, Pokhriyal and other party leaders campaigned in various parts of the city to elicit the support of the voters for the urban local body elections, the polling for which is to be held on January 23.
