Health dept to recruit 276 doctors, 1,300 class IV workers

The Health department has started the process of recruitment on 276 vacant posts of medical officers in the State health services.

The Uttarakhand medical services recruitment board has released recruitment advertisement for these posts of MO. The last date for online application for these posts is March 31, 2025.

On the orders of the health minister, Dhan Singh Rawat the department had recently started the process of recruitment on the backlog posts of medical officers.  The UMSSB has reserved 183 of these posts for the candidates of schedule caste category, six for schedule tribe, 59 for other backward classes and four for physically handicapped candidates. The board has kept 24 posts for candidates of unreserved category.

The health department has also started the process of recruitment on 1,300 vacant posts of class IV employees. These posts will be filled with the help of an outsourcing agency. The department has 98 posts of class IV employees vacant in Dehradun, 110 in Haridwar, 190 in Chamoli, 78 in Tehri, 49 in Pauri, 137 in Pithoragarh, 76 in Udham Singh Nagar, 356 in Nainital, 30 in Almora, 46 in Uttarkashi, 85 in Rudraprayag, 42 in Champawat and two in Bageshwar district.   A decision to fill the vacant posts of class IV employees was taken in a meeting of the officers of the health department held at the residence of the minister on Friday. Presiding over the meeting, Rawat said that the large number of posts of class IV employees are vacant in the health department for quite some time due to which the health services are adversely affected.

 In the meeting the minister also directed the officers to strengthen the health services, undertake gap analysis of district and sub district hospitals and improve the sanitation condition in the hospitals and reduce the response time of the 108 emergency ambulance service. The minister also directed the officers to ensure that the bed sheets in the hospital are changed daily. The meeting was attended by secretary health R Rajesh Kumar, mission director national health mission Swati Bhadauria, additional secretary Anand Srivastava, Anuradha Pal, officiating director general health Dr Sunita Tamta and others.
