USERC hosts discussion on women’s role in Viksit Bharat mission

Uttarakhand Science Education and Research Centre (USERC) organised a panel discussion on the theme of Accelerate Action: A Firm Step towards Viksit Bharat to mark International Women’s Day in Anthropological Survey of India (ANSI), Kaulagarh Road here on Monday. In her address, USERC director, Prof Anita Rawat said that the women’s increasing participation was an imperative for taking India towards the developed nation status. She laid stress on providing entrepreneurship opportunities and digital empowerment to women.
The chairperson of Uttarakhand State Commission for Women, Kusum Kandwal emphasised on increasing role of women in nation-building process. She on the occasion spoke of various programmes being run by the commission for the welfare of women.
A panel discussion was held in the technical session of the programme.
Among others who spoke were the dean, Research, Dolphin Institute, Dehradun, Prof Varsha Parcha and the head of the department, Faculty of Education, DAV PG College, Dehradun Savita Rawat.
