Shop owners specialising in Pooja materials and Ganesh idols also reported increased sales activity.

Shop owner Hari Pandey expressed his enthusiasm about the number of devotees visiting his store. He noted that the influence of social media has contributed to the rising trend of Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations across India, which is also evident in Dehradun this year. He said that more individuals purchased items such as clothing, Teeka, Mauli, Pan leaves and other materials for the festivities.

Florist Chandan Sharma said on Tuesday morning that devotees purchased flowers not only for the Pooja but also to adorn spaces for the celebration. Since Tuesday morning, there has been a surge in bulk flower purchases, aiming to enhance the spiritual atmosphere of the festivities.

Additionally, many other shopkeepers offering Pooja materials noticed an increase in the number of customers making last-minute preparations for the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.
