Addressing the12th Kalam Ke Sipahi Award function held at the Constitution Club of India, New Delhi, the former chief minister and Haridwar MP, Trivendra Singh Rawat said that the standard of journalism in India is extremely high and remains a strong pillar of democracy with its commitment to truth and impartiality. “The media plays a crucial role not only in forming and running governments but also in shaping every aspect of society,” he said and urged young journalists to publish news only after thorough research and fact-checking. He also emphasised that with mobile phones in every hand, everyone is now a part of the media, making the role of journalists even more crucial.
Also, he urged all journalists to participate in India’s development march to help the vision of ‘Developed India 2047’ materialise.
A large number of eminent personalities from the fields of journalism, media, literature, education, and social service from across the country attended the event. The Ambassador of Algeria to India Abdenor Khelifi was also present.
