The office of the Accountant General, Uttarakhand, will organise a workshop on financial literacy to strengthen accounting practices and promote transparency in public financial management at Nainital Club in Nainital on Friday.
Senior officers from the State administration, Police, Forest, Judiciary, Public Works Department and district administration of Nainital will participate in the workshop. The Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) has been emphasising the importance of sensitizing the drawing and disbursing officers (DDOs), treasury officers and others through regular seminars and workshops. These initiatives, conducted in coordination with the State government aim to build institutional capacity and enhance the quality of State government accounts at the grassroots level. The workshop aims to enhance financial awareness, build institutional capacity and reinforce accountability among government functionaries and ensure greater accuracy and transparency in maintaining State government accounts.
