The dispute between former Jwalapur MLA Suresh Rathore and television actress Urmila had gone beyond the social media with the actress levelling allegations against him while addressing the media on Tuesday. Claiming that she is an active office bearer of the BJP and an established television actress, she alleged that Rathore was trying to defame her as she is also a strong contender for the election ticket from Jwalapur constituency. Meanwhile, the former MLA has rejected the allegations and said that in addition to the defamation case he had already filed against her, his family members will also take legal recourse now.
She claimed that on June 15, Rathore had himself announced that they were married, adding that they were together on Karwa Chauth and other family occasions. Everything was going normal but the “unnecessary statements” made by his purported other wife marred their relations, she said. The issue was being spread on social media since then. She accused the former MLA of trying to dent her image on public platforms, adding that they had entered into a ‘Gandharva Vivah’.
“I will fight for my dignity and the truth and will take legal recourse if needed,” he said.
Talking to The Pioneer, the former MLA said that he was never married to Urmila. “I have already filed a Rs five crore defamation case against her. My daughter, son in-law and other family members will also sue her for defamation,” Rathore said.
It is pertinent to mention here that the BJP had expelled Rathore for a period of six years earlier this year due to this very controversy.
