Harish Rawat’s Malta party draws good crowd

Large number of people from all walks of life attended the Gairsain Malta party organised by former chief minister Harish Rawat here on Saturday. The party was thrown by the veteran leader to promote Malta (a local citrus fruit) and other local products of the State.
The party was attended by Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Ganesh Godiyal and chairman of election management committee of State Congress Harak Singh Rawat.
Speaking on the occasion, the former CM said that the objective of the party was to ensure that the people don’t forget the tangy taste of Malta of Gairsain and Mahalchori area.
The PCC president Godiyal said that Rawat is working on the agenda of Uttarakhandiyat. He said that the Congress party supports Harish Rawat’s demand of increasing the support price of Malta.
Sharing anecdotes associated with Malta, Congress leader Harak Singh Rawat said that he stands shoulder to shoulder with Harish Rawat to further his agenda of Uttarakhandiyat.
The programme was chaired by colonel (retd) Ram Ratan Negi and coordinated by senior vice president Surendra Kumar. Former speaker of Vidhan Sabha Govind Singh Kunjwal, former cabinet minister Hira Singh Bisht, Garima Dasauni and others attended the party.
