MDDA demolishes illegal plotting on 25 Bighas in Dehradun, seals constructions in Rishikesh

The Mussoorie–Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) has demolished illegal plotting around 20 to 25 Bighas in the Asan Vihar area of Harbhajwala, Dehradun. Also sealed illegal constructions in Rishikesh, on Thursday. The action was taken on the orders of senior officials.
In Rishikesh, MDDA sealed an illegal construction near Nirmal Bagh B-Block Road, Lane No. 10. The construction was being done without official approval. Another illegal construction near the Old Post Office in the Bankhandi area of Rishikesh was also sealed for violating building rules.
In a major action, MDDA demolished an illegal multi-storey building being constructed by Sunil Soni in Rishikesh. The building did not have an approved map. Engineers and police personnel were present on the spot to ensure the action was carried out safely.
In Dehradun, MDDA demolished illegal plotting around 20 to 25 Bighas in the Asan Vihar area of Harbhajwala. MDDA officials said that illegal plotting damages planned city development and creates problems for people in the future.
Vice chairman Banshidhar Tiwari said MDDA will continue strict action against illegal construction and plotting. He added that such activities harm urban planning, the environment and basic facilities. Secretary Mohan Singh Barnia said MDDA teams are constantly checking areas and immediate action is taken wherever rules are broken. He said protecting public interest is the authority’s top priority.
