Arun Bisht elected president of Nainital Bar Association

In the district bar association elections, Arun Bisht became the president and Sanjay Suyal became the secretary. Besides, Kamal Chilwal was elected the vice-president.
After the vote count, the chief election officer Rajesh Chandola announced the names of the winners. Of more than 300 registered advocates, 257 cast their votes.
Arun Singh Bisht, who won the president’s post, received 96 votes, while Neeraj Sah, who came second, received 88. Sanjay Suyal, who won the secretary’s post, received 130 votes, while his nearest rival, Anil Singh Bisht, received 124. Kamal Chilwal secured 152 votes while Pramod Tiwari had to settle for 98. After the results were announced, all elected office-bearers were given certificates of election.
All the office bearers, including the newly elected president and secretary said that they would work with full dedication in the interest of the association and the advocates.
However, many advocates could not exercise their right to vote. According to information, advocates registered after April 2025 were not allowed to vote. Apart from this, advocates who had not deposited their dues (fees) were also not able to cast their vote. Under the election rules, only those advocates were given the right to vote whose registration was done within the stipulated time limit and whose all liabilities were deposited in full.
