A high alert has been issued in Dehradun as the district administration completed all preparations for the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday. The visit will include the inauguration of the Delhi–Dehradun Expressway, a major infrastructure project aimed at improving connectivity between the two cities.
Security has been tightened along the route from Asharodi to Garhi Cantt, where welcome programmes are scheduled. The entire route has been divided into 13 zones, with magistrates deployed in each zone. Arrangements at Jolly Grant Airport and GTC Helipad have also been reviewed.
The district magistrate, Savin Bansal held an important meeting with zonal magistrates and other officials to review the arrangements. He instructed all officers to stay alert and work in close coordination.
All departments, including public works, electricity, and water supply, have been asked to ensure proper facilities and provide safety certificates. Special attention has been given to the main stage, where the Prime Minister’s programme will be held. Arrangements like sound systems, LED screens, anchoring and internet facilities in the green room have been installed as per protocol.
The administration has also made proper arrangements for seating, parking, drinking water, mobile toilets and cleanliness at the venue. Emergency medical services, including ambulances, will be available at the site.
Officials have been instructed to reach their duty points on time to ensure a smooth and safe conduct of the event.
