U’khand becomes first State to set up Sanskrit villages in all districts: Kumar

The secretary of Sanskrit Education Uttarakhand government Deepak Kumar said that Uttarakhand has become the first State in India to establish Sanskrit villages in all its districts. He made this statement during a discussion about Sanskrit village concept while inspecting the Model Sanskrit Village in Nagla Tarai in Udham Singh Nagar district on Friday. He also took a review meeting in the multi-purpose building of the Gram Sabha. Devendra Singh, the village Pradhan of Nagla Tarai and the block development officer, Sanjay Kumar Gandhi welcomed the secretary.
During the meeting, the secretary provided information about various schemes and programmes organised by the Uttarakhand Sanskrit Sansthanam, directorate, council and university. He informed about how the Sanskrit Education department of the Uttarakhand government is working to connect Sanskrit education with employment opportunities both in India and abroad. He also said the organisation of workshops on the 16 Sanskars and efforts to contact the Ministry of External Affairs of the Government of India to increase the demand for Sanskrit internationally. All attendees were encouraged to enhance their interest in Sanskrit. He urged everyone to learn and teach Sanskrit, especially through the use of audio resources.
Meena Thapa also spoke about the positive effects of Sanskrit Mantras on daily life and stressed the importance of adopting them. The meeting was attended by BDO Gandhi, assistant block development officer Chandra Shekhar Joshi and other officials.
