The Vasant Vihar police arrested a tea vendor Vinod Kumar (39) for allegedly serving liquor to customers. A case has been registered against the accused under sections of the Excise Act.
Acting on a tip-off, the police raided a shop near Anurag Chowk and found several people drinking beer and liquor while having snacks inside the premises. During questioning, Kumar reportedly told police that he allowed customers to sit and drink at his shop to increase sales and earn more money, police said.
Police recovered two bottles of beer, two quarter bottles of whisky and a whisky bottle, among other items. By the time police started questioning the shop owner, the customers present at the shop had left the spot, police said.
