The state government is continuing its crackdown on Madarsas that do not comply with the established accreditation and educational standards. Action has been taken against unrecognised Madarsas in Dehradun and Haldwani.
Minority Affairs secretary Parag Madhukar Dhakate stated that action was taken against three Madarsas in Dehradun. Madarsa Jamia-tus-Salam Al-Islamia, located in Azad Colony, was sealed, while the managers of Madarsa Dar-e-Arqam, Azad Colony, Majra, and Madarsa Darul Uloom Rahimiya, located in Azad Colony, have given written undertakings to cease operations. He said that 17 Madarsas have been sealed in the State so far, while the managers of three have given written notice of their closure. A total of 20 unrecognised Madarsas have been closed so far.
He further informed that Madarsa Jamia Nooria Barakat-e-Amina located at Shani Bazaar Road, Gaujajali North in Haldwani of Nainital district and the unrecognised Madarsa operating in Indira Nagar, Banbhulpura have also been sealed.
Haldwani city magistrate AB Vajpayee stated that the Madarsa managers concerned were asked to submit the necessary documents related to the recognition. When the required documents were not submitted, the sealing action was taken as per the rules.
Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has issued clear instructions that no educational institution in the State will be allowed to operate without the prescribed rules and accreditation. Under the new system implemented in the state, minority educational institutions will ensure modern and quality education, as well as adherence to prescribed educational standards.
The chief minister stated that no compromise will be made on the future of children and quality education. Action will continue as per the rules against institutions operating in violation of regulations.
