The minister for Rural Development, MSME, Khadi and Village Industries, Bharat Singh Chaudhary inaugurated the five-day Uttarakhand Uday Export 2026 and Kisan Mela at Modi Ground in Rudrapur on Friday.

The minister inspected various stalls set up at the fair and inquired about the products displayed there. He also inquired about the agriculture-based materials used in making local products and those produced by all-women self-help groups.

Congratulating the representatives of self-help groups, institutions and various departments participating in the fair, he said that such events play an important role in providing a wider market for products at the local level, encouraging entrepreneurship and connecting farmers and self-employed people with new possibilities.

“A large number of people in rural Uttarakhand are involved in agriculture, handicrafts, local products, small industries and self-employment. Such events not only help local products reach consumers, but also provide producers with an opportunity to understand the quality, packaging, and market demand of their products,” he added.

The director of the organising committee, S K Tripathi stated that the Uttarakhand Uday Export 2026 and Kisan Mela is being held over five days.   “A total of 80 stalls have been set up at the fair, 60 of which are designated for women from self-help groups,” he stated.
