Congress’ silence on MP accused of sexual exploitation shameful: BJP

PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/Dehradun

The Bharatiya Janata Party State media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan described the Congress’ silence instead of taking action against the MP Ngomcha Bimol Akoijam, accused of sexual harassment during his tenure as a professor in Jawaharlal Nehru University as shameful.

Chauhan said that instead of observing a silent fast on a false issue, Congress leaders should raise their voice of protest to Rahul and Priyanka. He questioned why they were protecting an MP who exploited meritorious female students. “Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi were misbehaving with female police officers and even attempting to beat their own party leader with shoes in Lucknow.

The Congress leaders in Uttarakhand should not sit on a silent fast over crimes against women, but instead go to Delhi and raise their voice of protest before their high command. They should ask Congress leader Sonia Gandhi when action will be taken against the Congress MP accused of sexually assaulting 11 meritorious students at JNU. Priyanka Gandhi should explain what was the fault of the female police officer whom he elbowed.

State Congress leaders don’t need to sit in embarrassing protests or fasts for political gain. Instead, they should raise their voices against Congress leaders like Digvijay Singh and Ajay Rai, who make offensive remarks about their own party’s women leaders,”he said.
