Show cause notice to President, Secretary over swearing in ceremony
The state administration has issued a show cause notice to the President and Secretary of Uttarakhand Secretariat Association for holding their swearing in ceremony without prior permission. The ceremony was organised by a popular association of secretariat employees on Friday in which the Agriculture minister Subodh Uniyal, chief secretary Om Prakash and Additional Chief Secretary Radha Raturi were invited as guests but neither the minister nor the two bureaucrats turned up for the ceremony.
In a letter directed to the President Deepak Joshi and secretary Vimal Joshi, the Additional Chief Secretary, Radha Raturi sought clarification in the matter and the duo have been served with a show cause notice. This follows a complaint lodged by one Narendra Prasad Raturi some time back in which he alleged that rules were not followed the in the election of the assocation held on January 22. Subsequently, an investigation committee headed by additional secretary Pratap Shah was constituted on February 11. This committee was asked to submit its report within 14 days. The administration had also ordered for suspension of the swearing in ceremony till the committee submits its report. However the association went ahead with its programme of swearing in after which a show-cause notice was issued. Raturi has asked the two to submit a reply to the show-cause notice within three days.
