Centre approves important projects in U’khand

The centre has approved various projects and works in Uttarakhand under railways, hydro power and Namami Gange. Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami thanked the central government after the union cabinet approved the Lakhwad multi-purpose project. He said that this project of national importance will be completed soon under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. This project with 90 per cent central funding will benefit Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi and Rajasthan. While six states will receive the water component of the project, Uttarakhand will receive the electricity component.
In another development the Union Railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw directed the ministry officials to examine the Dhampur-Kashipur new rail line. Dhami had requested the Union minister for this new rail line. Issuing directions to the officials, Vaishnaw also wrote to Dhami stating that necessary checks will be conducted soon for the new rail line.
Additionally, two important projects worth Rs six crore have also been approved under Namami Gange. These include construction of two bathing ghats costing Rs 3.62 crore at Jhankaiya adjoining Khatima and ghat cleaning project costing Rs 2.50 crore in Rishikesh.
