Former chief minister and head of the campaign committee of Uttarakhand Congress Harish Rawat has said that the party would give priority to the ex servicemen, farmers and women in ticket distribution for the upcoming assembly elections. Addressing the media-persons here on Friday, Rawat said that priority would be given to candidates of these groups in the constituencies where they are in a strong position.  Continuing the line of wooing the ex-servicemen further, Rawat announced that the party would soon start the Veer Gram Parikrama Yatra in the state. He informed that in Garhwal region this Yatra would start from the village of Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat while in Kumaon it will commence from the village of the former Army Chief, General Bipin Joshi. Rawat also informed that the Congress party would start a ‘ BJP Dhol Ki Pol Khol’ campaign from Munakot in Pithoragarh on December 19. In the campaign the Congress workers would expose the policies and works done by the BJP in the last four and half years. Rawat said that the BJP should add the performance of the government in the years 2012 and 2013 with the rule of its governments in the state as the head of the government during that time is in BJP now.

Expressing happiness at the huge crowd during the Vijay Samman rally organised by Congress party in which former president of Congress Rahul Gandhi was chief guest and speaker, Rawat said that the people of Uttarakhand have made up their mind to bring Congress to power in the state. Taking a dig at the BJP’s slogan of ‘ Abki Bar 60 par’ ( This time more than 60 MLAs) the Congress veteran claimed that the people would make ‘BJP Tadipar’ ( throw the BJP out) in the elections.
