Two suspended for embezzlement of 53.87 lakh pension amount

The Pauri district magistrate Vijay Kumar Jogdande suspended two employees of the treasury who had allegedly diverted pensions of various beneficiaries fraudulently to their own and their relatives’ accounts.The DM suspended Pauri treasury accountant Nitin Rawat and Srinagar sub-treasury accountant Subash Chand.It is pertinent to mention that Pauri Kotwali police have registered a case against Rawat under sections 420, 409 and 477 A of IPC on the report lodged by assistant treasury officer Rajesh Kumar on January 8. The complaint stated that Rawat fraudulently and illegally diverted and embezzled pension amount of Rs 15,26,360 of different pensioners.The Pauri Kotwali station house officer Vinod Gusain is the investigation officer in this case. A similar case was registered in Srinagar police station on the complaint of the sub-treasury’s Nandan Singh Khatri against Chand sections 409, 420 and 477A of IPC on January 10.The report stated that the accused had fraudulently and illegally embezzled pension amount of Rs 38,61,417 of different pensioners. The Srinagar police station SHO RC Ramola is investigating this case. Three employees were found involved in the embezzlement of the pensions of dead pensioners from the Pauri treasury and Srinagar sub treasury. The DM has suspended two employees while the third employee has expired.
