The enforcement teams have seized Rs 3.62 crore unaccounted cash and liquor worth over Rs 3.2 crore since the model code of conduct (MCC) came into effect in poll-bound Uttarakhand. As per the data provided by the authorities, the teams have seized unaccounted cash of a total of Rs 2.47 crore from January 10 to Jan 31 and Rs 1.15 crore in the past nine days from across the state. Besides this, the State Surveillance Teams (SSTs), Flying Squad Teams (FSTs) and police have seized more than 45394.34 litres of alcohol worth over Rs 2.27 crore since January 10. The excise department has also seized 27328.044 litres of alcohol worth over Rs one crore since the implementation of MCC in the state as per the data. The authorities have also confiscated 356 illegal weapons.
Besides this, the police have so far imposed penalties on 44,897 persons and detained 34,289 persons across the state under the sections 107/106 of Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC).
