In view of the decline in the number of Covid-19 patients, the Regional Transport Office (RTO) of Dehradun has decided to remove the mandatory condition of booking online time slots to carry out works related to permits, challans and others in the premises from February 25. However, it is still mandatory for the applicants of learning licences (LLs) and permanent driving licences (DLs) to book slots to apply for the licence. The regional transport officer (administration) Dinesh Chandra Pathoi informed that the considering the decline in the Covid cases and the recent guidelines of centre, state and the district administration, the RTO will now accept all the eligible applications directly in its premises except the applications for LLs and DLs due to heavy backlog. He said that RTO will accept 150 applications for DLs and 60 applications for LLs on each working day but only with the mandatory slot booking system. Besides this, RTO will also conduct driving tests of old applicants who were given the date and time but could not give it due to the rising Covid cases.Pathoi said that RTO will conduct tests of 30 such applicants daily from Friday but they would have to book slots again too.The applicants can book their slots at http://appointmentrtodoon.in.
