Panic gripped an area located near forest in Clement town locality of the city when a huge python was noticed by some people. The locals immediately informed the forest department officials after which the 14 ft long female python was rescued. Sudharshan Singh Panwar, one of the members of the team that rescued the snake said “The Python who had accidently lost its way was found by some locals, it had wandered to find a cool place and accidently made its way there”. He further added, “The python was in its molting stage, and during this stage the snake usually tends to have weaker eyesight than usual, and for that reason this snake accidently had come there.”
Pradeep Rastogi, another member of the rescue teams said, “We advise people to stay calm and not do anything silly in that moment, inform us by calling our toll-free number of 108 and we will be there. To prevent these situations, try to keep your surroundings as clean as possible, remove any type of rocks and cut any type of bushes which could act as a camouflage for these snakes.”
The experts opine that due to the hot weather and ever-increasing forest fires many animals have been struggling to find a cool and comfortable place in the forest. Since Pythons are cold blooded animals, they become uncomfortable in high temperatures making them more active in search of a cooler environment in this weather.
