278 Jawans join ranks of SSB after passing out parade in Srinagar

The chief minister of Uttarakhand Pushkar Singh Dhami reviewed a majestic passing out parade (PoP) of Jawans of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) at centralised training centre, SSB Srinagar on Monday. In the ceremony 278 new recruits joined the force after successful completion of their training. The passing out contingent saluted the CM who was the chief guest of the ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Dhami said that like the armed forces personnel the residents of border areas also serve the nation by discharging their duties as guards of the nation. Congratulating the passing out contingent he said that they are now part of the SSB and they should protect the nation by heart and soul. Offering his salute to the martyrs Dhami said that they had done supreme sacrifice for protecting the nation. He said that we are safe in our homes due to the soldier guarding our borders. Dhami said that SSB helps the citizens in every need. He expressed confidence that the new recruits would carry forward the glorious tradition of para military forces of the country. Dhami said apart from discharging their duties of security of the country, the soldiers of SSB serve the nation in various ways. He said that the SSB personnel did an appreciable work during the pandemic of Covid-19 and peaceful conduction of elections.
The higher education minister Dhan Singh Rawat, district magistrate (DM) of Pauri Vijay Kumar Jogdande, Senior Superintendent of Police, Y S Chauhan, Inspector General (IG) SSB Ratan Sanjay, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) S R Gupta and others were present in the ceremony.
