The speaker of Uttarakhand assembly Ritu Khanduri would participate in the National Conference of Women Legislators at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. The two day convention would commence from May 26. In the programme the women ministers in Union and state governments, women Speakers, deputy speakers, women Member of Parliament (MP) and MLAs would take part.
Organised under ‘ Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsava,’ celebrating 75years of independence of the country, the two day conference would be inaugurated by President Ram Nath Kovind. In the conference which is being organised on such a large scale for the first time, discussions on women rights, gender equality and representation of women in the decision making processes would be held. Uttarakhand speaker Khanduri would express her views on ‘Constitution and Women rights’ subject. The valedictory session would be inaugurated by Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla.
