Will wear garland only after throwing BJP out of power: Rawat

 Former cabinet minister Harak Singh Rawat has vowed not to adorn garlands till the incumbent BJP government in Uttarakhand is thrown out of power.

The senior leader known for his histrionics and unique style of politics took the pledge at a programme organised for honouring the party MLAs in the headquarters of the State unit of Congress party on Friday. In the programme, Rawat delivered an impressive speech in which he urged the party leaders and workers to work for dislodging the BJP government in the assembly elections of 2027. 

Stressing on the need for a united fight, Harak Singh Rawat said that the Congress will uproot the BJP government and throw it in a drain. Former Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Ganesh Godiyal tried to garland Rawat after his speech but he refused adding that he will adorn the garland only after the throwing the BJP out of power in 2027.
