The Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) chairman Hemant Dwivedi has said that mischievous elements who behave in a rowdy manner in Badrinath will be identified and that action will be taken against them.
He said this after taking cognisance of a video clip going viral on social media which shows an altercation between some persons at the Sinh Dwar of Badrinath temple reportedly on the issue of clicking photograph near the entrance of the temple.
The BKTC chairman said that any type of photography, videography or making reels is banned within 50 metres of Badrinath and Kedarnath temples. The BKTC has put up information boards informing visitors about this while the temple committee and police also relay this information on loudspeakers.
The BKTC chairman also appealed to the pilgrims to click photographs in the open space before Sinh Dwar instead of clicking photographs near the Sinh Dwar. The pilgrims have also been asked to maintain the dignity and sanctity of the Dham as such unruly behaviour sends the wrong message to the general public.
