A total of 2,16,373 students will appear for the board examinations 2026 for Class X and Class XII under the Uttarakhand Vidyalaya Shiksha Parishad (UVSP). The secretary of the UVSP, Vinod Simalti, informed that for the year 2026, 1,12,744 candidates have registered for the Class X examination, while 1,03,629 candidates have registered for the Class XII examination.
He said that, in comparison, 2,23,403 candidates appeared in the examinations in 2025, including 1,13,690 in class X and 1,09,713 in class XII. This year, there has been a decrease of 7,030 candidates compared to the previous year. For the 2026 examinations, the dates for online application and fee submission were initially set from July 1 to July 31.
However, due to the natural disaster affecting various parts of the State, the deadline was extended to August 14. He further said that a State-level meeting will be held to determine the exam centres, after which the process of issuing roll numbers to the candidates will begin.
