Cooperative bodies of U’khand become online with launch of RCS portal

In an important initiative all the cooperative bodies of the State became online on Monday with the launch of state-of-the-art online portal of the Registrar of Cooperative Societies (RCS). The portal was launched by the Cooperation minister Dhan Singh Rawat in a ceremony held at the Uttarakhand State Cooperative Federation auditorium in Dehradun. In the programme, the minister also distributed appointment letters to 45 assistant cooperative inspectors.

Addressing the programme, Rawat stated that connecting the cooperative sector with digital technology is a priority of the State government. He added that all services related to cooperative societies will now be available online through the newly developed portal, which will increase transparency and expedite work, thereby providing better services to the public.  Rawat said that important services like registration of cooperative societies, document uploading, complaint redressal, nomination verification, annual report, audit management, membership details, document management and MIS reporting will be available on the portal.

While distributing appointment letters to the newly appointed assistant cooperative inspectors, Rawat said that they are the young brand ambassadors of developed India and they will play an important role in taking the cooperative movement to the last person standing on the social ladder. 

He asked the newly appointed employees to strengthen the cooperative network in each block and develop at least one multipurpose cooperative society as a model. “The government plans to establish a Cooperative Village in each block, which will soon be realized with your dedication and innovation,’’ he said.

Rawat said that soon 100 loan Melas will be organized at the block level in the State and through them loans will be distributed to farmers, cultivators, youth and self-help groups.

Addressing the programme, Cooperation secretary Iqbal Ahmed said that today the department has become connected to the people and its role in strengthening the rural economy is continuously increasing.
