Cabinet minister Rekha Arya slammed the opposition parties, including Congress, Samajwadi Party and Trinamool Congress, for stonewalling women’s reservations, stating that they have through this act exposed their anti-women character. She mounted this scathing attack while addressing the media persons in Kashipur on Monday.
She warned that these parties would face the wrath of half the population of the country for trampling upon the legitimate rights of the women. “This issue transcends politics, as it pertains to women’s dignity and rights,” she stated.
Arya reiterated BJP’s commitment to providing one-third reservation to women in the Parliament and state Assemblies. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been working hard on this issue and things will definitely come to fruition despite the opposition’s recalcitrance,” she added.
